Dr George Ruckert

Dr. George Ruckert, Senior Lecturer Emeritus in Music at MIT, has taught western music, world music, popular music, music fundamentals, folk music, and harmony and counterpoint.  But his major field is the classical music of North India, which he studied with the eminent Indian sarod master Ustad Ali Akbar Khan for more than twenty years.  A sarod artist himself, he has played many concerts across the United States and Canada and has made several tours of Europe and India. He is also the founding member of MITHAS at MIT dedicated to promoting south asian arts.

Deepak Shahane

Deepak Shahane is a technologist who has worked for several successful iconic hi tech companies in leadership positions. He has a track record in helping companies achieve sustainable growth by achieving cost efficiency.  He is a student of Tabla (Indian  drums) and music is his passion. Deepak has been involved with several community organizations in the past helping them in all phases of their growth cycle.

Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan

For Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, the Sitar and Self are identical entities, and music is not just a discipline but life itself. Few instrumentalists have enjoyed so much of love and admiration as Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan has from the music loving community worldwide. He has performed in all major musical festivals in India and abroad including the Festival of India held in the US, Europe, Russia, Canada, Middle East, Africa and Australia, enthralling audiences everywhere. He is the founding director of SPK Academy dedicated to teaching Sitar to the students of music in the USA. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious national awards including the Government of India’s ‘PADMASHREE’ and the ‘SANGEET NATAK ACADEMY AWARD’.

Jaya Subramaniam Sharma

Jaya Subramaniam is a Global Investor & Board Advisor, former Healthcare BioPharma Executive, Start Up Advisor with proven expertise in scaling companies, long term business & financial planning (LTFP) and Corporate Strategy. Jaya also serves on the Board of SHEOWS Cares Foundation to promote elderly care in India
and makes substantial contributions to the community.

Girish Satpute

Girish Satpute is a retired technology executive who supports multiple charitable organizations. He is an avid follower of the Indian Classical music, and committed to supporting it in the Boston area.

Rajesh Godbole is the Founder President of Shadaj.  Rajesh is a Mechanical Engineer by training and works as a technology leader in the hi tech industry.  Rajesh is a student of music and deeply committed to nurturing and promoting Indian Classical Music in its most authentic form.

Milind Ranade

Milind Ranade

Milind is an avid follower of the Indian Classical music, and committed to supporting it in the Boston area. As a Board member, he contributes to the organization’s event planning, execution and publicity initiatives.  Milind is a software engineer by profession and works for one of the leading technology companies. 

Shriniwas Sane

Shirinwas Sane

Shriniwas is a Mechanical Engineer by profession. Shriniwas is an active member of several community organizations in the greater Boston area. He is also a founding member of Jilebi Arts, organization dedicated to Theater and arts.  As a Board member, he contributes to the organization’s event planning, execution and efforts to broaden engagement with the classical music community.  

Pranoti Mandrekar

Dr Pranoti Mandrekar

Dr Pranoti Mandrekar is a Professor at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and a recognized leader in biomedical research.  Pranoti is deeply committed to fostering cultural enrichment and community engagement. A dedicated student and advocate of Indian classical music she has played an active role in supporting and collaborating with organizations such as NESOM and other cultural institutions to organize high impact events that broaden access to music and promote cross-cultural exchange. 

Naresh Iyer

Naresh Iyer

Naresh Iyer is a long-standing volunteer and Board member of Shadaj, where he has been actively involved in promoting and supporting Hindustani classical music in the Greater Boston area. Naresh is deeply passionate about Indian classical music. As a Board member, he contributes to the organization’s strategic direction, governance, and efforts to broaden engagement with the classical music community. Professionally, he is a senior executive at a large financial institution.
