Pandit Vijay Koparkar is a highly acclaimed Hindustani classical vocalist renowned for his versatility and mastery of both classical and semi-classical forms. He received comprehensive training from eminent gurus, including Pandit Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande and Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, a unique blend that reflects in his diverse musical style. A top-grade artist with All India Radio and TV, Koparkar is particularly known for his expertise in khyal, especially jod-ragas (compound ragas), and has an impeccable command over semi-classical genres such as thumri, tappa, dadra, and natyageet. He has performed extensively at prestigious festivals worldwide, including the Sawai Gandharva Mahotsav in Pune, and has been honored with several awards, such as the Pandit Ramkrishna Vaze Puraskar.
